I heard some great things of reboot last year. I think it was sold out pretty quickly. This year I’ll check it out and I’m actually looking forward to it.

I sure hope it’s more interesting than back in 2002 (when I was one of the speakers :).

So who’s going?

Adserving for publishers

May 27th, 2008

Finally there’s some of grass root level innovation appearing in the “for publisher” ad industry (TraceWorks is focusing on “for advertisers”, meaning a lot of innovation in this space is a matter of course :).

So if you’re a web publisher and want to work with ads on your website (not using Google) then some of these technologies might come in handy: Adroll, LiveRail, Adregate, and Openx.

The first 3 are small, simple, and beautiful web apps - while Openx is mostly “beautiful” because it’s free and open source (read it’s big and complex - but many just love that).

wulff 2.0

May 22nd, 2008

My “girlfriend” shot this picture: It’s me with my daughter calling up MOTHER to tell her that Silvia just accepted my marriage proposal … well, first she hesitated but then I promised to do the dishes.

I’m actually exploding with joy - though the picture is pretty secretive about that. I think we’ll be getting married next summer. And yes, this means that planet earth will soon count one more Mrs. Wulff - weird.

So this is a picture of me Morten E. Wulff, the son of Annette Wulff & Eigil E. Wulff, on the road to becoming an adult with family and lots of responsibility e.g. notice my new more conservative hairstyle, the bluuuue shirt, the rather serious facial expression … and - oh yes - sockless baby Fiona.

One nose to rule them all

Congratulations Silvia

February 4th, 2008

My girlfriend Silvia just co-won (with the rest of the team of course) a prestigious “Robert” movie award here in Denmark for »Ung mand falder« in the category »best long fiction (max. 60 minutes)«

According to IMDB:
“Young Man Falling” is a movie about 17-year-old Hue who’s living on the fringe of a true perception of reality. Cars pursue him, while a world full of rules and systems asks for his attention. How can he concentrate on his preparations for his French exam when the stuffed animals in his room begin to interfere? And what about Irene who disturbs with her invitations? “Young Man Falling” is an experimental film with a captivating visual style.

I haven’t seen it … yet I’m proud of Silvia. She’s always working like a race horse and she really deserves this. Good work, Lille & Co. Congratulations.

MAY 12, 2017 - BUSINESSWIRE. Mountain View-based search giant Google Inc today announced they’ve acquired the internet for the astounding sum of $2,455.5 billion in cash. The deal had been rumored in various search blogs since the beginning of the year and was now confirmed by the company’s CEO. “This is in line with our vision to make information more accessible to end users,” says Eric Schmidt. “With the acquisition, we can increase the speed of indexing as everything will already be on our servers by the time it’s published.” (read the full story)

37signals goes Dirty

November 6th, 2007

I’ve a big fan of 37signals and I just wanted to check out Highrise to help me keep track of my personal professional network … It’s probably pretty cool - haven’t tried it yet … have you? If not, you probably should.

Anyway for me 37signals is all about simplicity and a getting things done attitude, a lot about beautifully executed communication, and some about producing solid web apps. But as I came to their website (I haven’t been there for a while) I was a little surprised seeing this:

Not much simplicity here. I think this piece of communication is too cluttered: Too many colors, font sizes/types, and areas of attention etc. I think it lacks a little priority and some clear decisions.

Well, I’m definitely not a web designer. I don’t know shit … I was just a little surprised. Guess I expected something a little more “awesomely simple” from 37signals - who I by the way respect more than most others, so don’t take this the wrong way anyone … e.g. buy their book!

Google becoming a Follower?

November 1st, 2007

Is Google looking more and more like a classic greedy follower rather than a leader? I mean what is Google’s “OpenSocial” all about (what is it?)? Creating a Facebook2? New York Times report “the strategy is aimed at one-upping Facebook” - which means WHAT, exactly?Help me out here. Thanks.

I’ve read different places that Digg is nearing mainstream adoption (especially from a media perspective, meaning newspapers etc. are increasingly adding “Digg this” functionality to their sites). Sure, it’s a powerful influencer and viral channel if you want to spread your message … But still strongest among the tech savvy - I think.

A little stat example of this trend: Solid rumors of Bill Gates having an affair with an “apple computer” is according to Digg much more popular (aka “got more diggs”) than any other comic strip ever produced by Wulffmorgenthaler - even though it’s not even listed among WM’s Top 10 Comic Strips.
