Is Google looking more and more like a classic greedy follower rather than a leader? I mean what is Google’s “OpenSocial” all about (what is it?)? Creating a Facebook2? New York Times report “the strategy is aimed at one-upping Facebook” – which means WHAT, exactly?Help me out here. Thanks.

It’s building-blocks for developers, making it possible to create widgets that can be reused on multiple platforms (social networks).
So they don’t create their own “Facebook” but instead providing the platform for others to do so.
It’s definitely a better / more open way to do things in my opinion.
